Gunmen in military uniform allegedly abduct Kogi PDP chieftin

The chairman of the Okene branch of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Musa Adelabu has allegedly been abducted by unknown gunmen. The Kogi State chairman of the party, Sam Uhuotu, who confirmed the incident in a statement on Sunday, said gunmen dressed in military uniform invaded Adelabu's house and whisked him away at about 1 am on Saturday. The chairman further lamented over the constant harassement of PDP members by men dressed in security uniforms. "PDP says no amount of threats, harassment and attempts to intimidate its members and supporters by compromised security agents will deter it from standing together in victory, with the people of Kogi state in the November 16 Governorship election. The people of Kogi state have already made up their minds to vote out APC which has only brought excruciating poverty, deprivation, suicide, wanton looting, impunity and total disregard to the wellbeing of citizens and nothing can detract from the people's resolve

#BBNaija: Cindy, Omashola, Tacha, six others nominated for possible Eviction

This week, a total of Nine housemates are up for possible eviction from the Big Brother Naija house. At the Monday night eviction show, Team Cruisetopia won the challenge which automatically put all members of the losing 'Team Icons' (Cindy, Elozonam, Enkay, Frodd, Ike, Joe, Khafi, Omashola and Tacha) up for possible Eviction.   Diane however had to use her power to save and replace a Housemate. She saved Sir Dee from the Icon team and replaced him with Joe from the winning team, putting him in the list of those up for Eviction.

Joe Igbokwe, the spokesman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos state lashed out at President Buhari's critics while appearing as a guest on Channels Television’s Politics  on Monday August 12.  The Lagos APC spokesperson claimed that the PDP never did anything tangible in its 16 years in power, and further added that anyone who claims President Muhammadu Buhari is not doing well is a liar from hell. “The PDP was there for 16 years and we didn’t see anything. Hajj 2019: Nigeria loses 9 pilgrims in Saudi Arabia

Dr Ibrahim Kana, the Chairman of National Medical Team of National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) on Monday August 12, confirmed that 9 Nigerian pilgrims died while performing the 2019 Hajj in Saudi Arabia.  The confirmation came after report of the death of Alhaja Folashade Lawal, a female Nigerian Pilgrim from Oshodi Local Government Area of Lagos State. Dr Ibrahim Kana further disclosed that three pilgrims from Kano, two from Katsina, one each from Sokoto, and Nasarawa as well as one international pilgrim died in this year’s Hajj. “Yes, that’s correct. We lost a pilgrim yesterday (Sunday) at the Jamarat. She actually collapsed. She was immediately evacuated from the Jamarat area to a facility called Mina Adisu Hospital. She eventually died. She is a known hypertensive. “There is a possibility that the fact that she is a known hypertensive, she may have had fully heart disease that actually triggered the collapse and she subsequently died.
